ABSTRACT

Cardiac pathologies due to electrical injuries seldom occur among whole emergency admittances. A 47-year-old-man entered to the emergency service with complains of unconsciousness and palpitations due to electrical injury. The electrocardiogram showed an atrial fibrillation with rapid ventricular response. Transthorasic echocardiography could not demonstrate any abnormality. An electrocardiogram and coronary angiography that were applied eight months ago were in normal range. Atrial fibrillation changed to normal sinus rhythm after medical therapy. He was externed without any complication on the fourth day of hospitalization. Although cardiac malfunctions rarely occur in electrical injury, close follow up is recommended because of potential of hazardous results.
