ABSTRACT
Ascaris lumbricoides is the largest nematode to reside in the small intestine of humas, and results in pulmonary and intestinal ascariasis. One important complication is intestinal obstruction, which is caused by mechanical blockage of a mass of many nematodes. Ascaris lumbricoides and its related clinical conditions and complications should be considered while evaluating the acute abdominal pain patients in the emergency department.
