Chemical injuries of the eye make up a significant portion of eye injuries with high morbidity. Injuries happen mostly with bases and acids like sodium hydroxide, potassium hydroxide, hydrofluoric acid, formic acid and phenol. A 21-year old male patient presented to the emergency department with an injury of the right eye with an agent called 'serpantin', a liquid used in cleaning air conditioners. After irrigation in the emergency department, the patient was admitted to the ophthalmology ward. After four days of medical treatment, he was discharged without sequela.
