A Northern Toxin in South Region: Mad Honey Poisoning

The honey which is produced in Japan, Nepal, Brazil and the Blacksea Region of Turkey is also known as the ‘mad honey’ by Turkish people and contains Rhododendron ponticum nectar, which is known to cause severe bradycardia and hypotension. In this paper we presented a case admitted to emergency service with the diagnosis of mad honey poisoning and unresponsive to normal therapy and needed external pacemaker under the knowledge of the last literatür.
