Temporal arteritis, is a frequently seen systemic inflammatory vasculitis, affecting elderly people and treatment of temporal arteritis is urgent to avoid vision loss. In this report we present temporal arteritis with the complication of vision loss as a result of misdiagnosis five years ago. Despite misdiagnosis, prompt improvement in his well- being is interestingly notified as soon as the treatment was initiated in our department and total blindness, the most worrisome complication of temporal arteritis, was prevented with urgent treatment. In this report the importance of prompt treatment is stressed out and approach to patients with temporal arteritis, treatment and follow –up of patients is clarified.
